Sadly I was late updating Term 4, and in that time the folder containing most of the pictures and slides was accidentally deleted during a laptop upgrade.

So here it is Room 10 2022, and some of what the class learned about and got up to...
I Wonder - a conversation in class one day lead to 'our wonderings.' A fun activity.
We visited Maungatautari ( Sanctuary Mountain) - an amazing conservation reserve not far from Tokoroa. So many native species live safely there. To learn more about Maungatautari look at the following slides (we did before we went):
After our Maungatautari visit the class researched a native bird or a predator :
A Pono Ki O Rahi team coached by Jared Kennedy (the Rankawa Ramgitahi Councillor) along with a team from Tika, played visiting teams from Matamata Intermediate.
In Science, we looked at Matter - Solids, Liquids, and Gases, and found out about atoms, molecules, elements, and the Periodic Table.
Room 10 was lucky enough to get a Promethean interactive board, some of the boys took part in training on how to use it. Teaching has come a long way since chalk and blackboards:
We were lucky enough to get a booking for a day at Mi Camp again this year - the weather was perfect and we had a great day out...
And all too soon the year ended, and it was Prizegiving time
First up was our Te Whare Pono Prizegiving - Class and Huarahi Awards were presented to:

School Prizegiving took place on December 12th 2022 and many Room 10's were awarded prizes - certificates:
Awards were presented by Mayor Gary Petley, our BOT Presiding Member Tracey Ramanui, and Mr Noke -one of our teachers who was leaving the school to teach in Australia.
Cerrone Tasi received the Wilson Cup for Public Speaking - Year 8 Speech Winner and a Board of Trustees Award for General Excellence.
Levi received the Arthur Smith Anzac Day Award, well deserved - he has an excellent knowledge of the events at Gallipoli,
an
Tanea and Ava were awarded BOT Awards for Excellence.
Preston received a Certificate of Distinction and the Whaea Amy Awatere Trophy for Excellence in Te Reo Maori,
Sarah received the He Tohu Aroha Te Waikaiti Trophy for excellence in Year 8 Te Reo Maori
Payton our dedicated Year 7 Councillor, was awarded Law Cup for Public Speaking - he won the Year 7 Speech Competition. He was also awarded a new trophy to our school - The Kindness Award. It couldn't have gone to a more deserving recipient.
Caelin - our very own 'Queen Bee; was also awarded a BOT Award for General Excellence and also got to take part in the ceremony.
