Hareruia

We are incredibly lucky at Tokoroa Intermediate to have the most incredible talented Kapa Haka tutor - Whaea Awhina. Room 10 needed a waiata to sing at our powhiri at the Marae next week, so today she came to class and taught Rooms 10 and 12  the waiata 'Hareruia'.
This is the result after 25 minutes singing - pretty amazing - and thanks to Kade and Nevada for volunteering to do the finale - you two are pretty talented too !

Scary Narratives 1

In Term 3 Room 10 read scary narratives, then wrote and illustrated their own scary narrative. Their last task was to read aloud with fluency and expression, an extract from the narrative they had written:

Athletic Sports 2014

Athletic Sports have been and gone - Everyone in Room 10 competed and some had more success than other - particularly Kani.
A magnificent effort  saw him placed 1st 60m, 100m, 300m, Shot Put, Cricket Ball Throw and 1st = Long Jump. 2nd 200m, and 5th in Discus. Unfortunately a misunderstanding meant Kani didn't jump in the High Jump - with his long legs I'm sure he would've done extra well there too.
Runner up Junior Boys Champion.  Room 10 are proud of you Kani!

Congratulations also to:
Nevada 2nd in High Jump and 4th in the Cricket Ball Throw.
Shakira 4th in the Shot Put
Te Amorangi 2nd 60m, 200m, Long Jump, 5th 100m, 1000m and 1500m,
Jozyius 5th 60m and 100m, 3rd 1000m,
Zak 5th 1000m, 2nd 1500m,
Karma Ray 4th in the 1500m and JWA (Jayviar) 5th in the middle distance events 200m and 300m.
