Epals in Korea

Last Term we had some correspondence with a class in Daejeon in the Republic of Korea, we wrote letters of introduction and told a little about ourselves using Flipgrid.
Their teacher decided it would be interesting to exchange recipes and compare table manners - we sent the recipes we have been making in Year 7 Food Technology (Cooking). This week we received some pictures showing our epals had made cheese rolls ... Now we will try making one of the recipes sent to us:

Whaea Kelly

Whaea Kelly was our student teacher for 5 weeks, and what a great teacher she's going to be when she finishes her study. One of the things Room 10 are going to remember about her is the game Kotahi:



 Thanks for the lunch you so kindly shouted the class on your last day too. We all appreciated it.

Whai - String games

Whaea Kelly taught the class some string games, or whai these are known in Maori.

In the early days Whai or Te Whai Wawewawe a Maui was a hand game played with flax string. Room 10 used wool or string and learnt a variety of different 'moves' :
