Term 4 2022

Sadly I was late updating Term 4, and in that time the folder containing most of the pictures and slides was accidentally deleted during a laptop upgrade.

(Prizegiving pics are at the bottom of this post)

So here it is Room 10 2022, and some of what the class learned about and got up to...

I Wonder - a conversation in class one day lead to 'our wonderings.' A fun activity.

We visited Maungatautari ( Sanctuary Mountain) - an amazing conservation reserve not far from Tokoroa. So many native species live safely there. To learn more about Maungatautari look at the following slides (we did before we went):

After our Maungatautari visit the class researched a native bird or a predator :

A Pono Ki O Rahi team coached by Jared Kennedy (the Rankawa Ramgitahi Councillor) along with a team from Tika, played visiting teams from Matamata Intermediate.

In Science, we looked at Matter - Solids, Liquids, and Gases, and found out about atoms, molecules, elements, and the Periodic Table.

Room 10 was lucky enough to get a Promethean interactive board, some of the boys took part in training on how to use it. Teaching has come a long way since chalk and blackboards:

We were lucky enough to get a booking for a day at Mi Camp again this year - the weather was perfect and we had a great day out...
