Year 7 students who have studied Anzacs as part of their Social Studies can submit work.
Over the last few years Mr Fisher the school Deputy Principal has judged these entries, he's quite an expert on the topic; he's retired now but continues to read through the work done by students and selects a winner.
This year our Jordyn was awarded the Anzac trophy for her Found Poem, Walking with an Anzac inquiry and a description of a very realistic sounding Anzac soldier she created.
Jordy' is very proud of her Maori heritage and this is evident in her writing:
She will be officially presented with the trophy and our end of year Prizegiving
Other highly commended Walking with an Anzac inquiries:
Hami Grace proved to be a popular soldier to find out about, sadly he was killed at Gallipoli in the battle for Chunuk Bair.
