They got to spend the day listening to some pretty inspiring speakers:
"Today is an opportunity for you to hear amazing stories from very different people- the ways they have lived their lives and what it meant to make tough decisions. Their stories will show us that we can all be leaders, but that leadership can look different in each situation."
First up was the very entertaining Billy Graham:
Brylee is proof that her disability was not a barrier to achieving her dreams:
Valentine Tauamiti shared how important his parents had been in his life:
Marina recited a poem on her hair - here it is, you need to listen - she's amazing! (her hair is certainly longer now!):
Then Pio Terei the well known comedian gave a highly entertaining account of his first school experiences and the benefits of crossing cultural lines:
Hundreds of other students from the Central North Island attended
Emily was not only a talented musician, she shared her belief in supporting a cause, World Vision.
and the day ended with Dave from Avalance City, who not only shared his journey to success, but also played his two biggest hits to the audience.
The House Captains will be sharing what they learnt from these speakers in Assembly soon...
