Maths, Science and some good rugby players

Week 4 sure was a busy one in Room 10. The Education Review Office (ERO) visited Tokoroa Intermediate and we had our class visit on Tuesday. Thanks to Ellie, Nevada and Brooklyn for sharing their learning and answering questions.

Six of the boys went to represent the school at the Waikato Intermediate Rugby Competition - they arrived back very happy, Tokoroa Intermediate won the under 57kg division.

In Maths we have started a statistical investigation, the " oldie but goodie" finding out whether there are the same numbers of each colour/ flavour/ type of lollies in a packet. This involves creating graphs by hand and using Excell to graph the results. Then everyone has to compare their findings with others and present their results to the class.

In Science we are learning about the Physical World and Friction is the area we are focusing on. On Friday some of the class tested the best surface - footwear combinations for a Tug of War, the most effective ways to stop when sliding on lino and learnt a little about lubricants too...
