SPCA Cup Cake Day at T.I.S

Every year one of our dedicated Teacher Aides, Mrs Neho organises Cup Cake Day at Tokoroa Intermediate. She bakes cupcakes herself and encourages children to get involved too, and they do - dozens of cup cakes arrived this morning. Just under $800 was raised for the Tokoroa SPCA. The best cupcakes were entered into a competition and a guest judge chose the winners...

Friday Assembly 22 August 2014

At Friday Assembly, Class Councillors have to " introduce a friend", last Friday it was Monica the Room 8 Councillors turn ( Monica was in Room 10 in 2013). Her presentation on her good friend Nakiaa was original and enjoyed by everyone... Nakiaa Monica and Nakiaa were later joined by Qdezjah on stage and they gave another presentation - this time on how Cook Island Language week was celebrated in their class... Statistical Investigations

The Maths class has finished their directed statistical investigation into colours and flavours in various packets of lollies, graphs have been completed, findings shared, and lollies eaten... Now they have to carry out an independent investigation.











Whakatauki

As part of our Nga Wiki O Te Reo Maori, Room 10 also illustrated some whakatauki - these are Maori proverbs, they are sayings that reflect the thoughts, values and advice of past generations...

Room 10 have had a focus on Tikanga Maori over recent weeks; everyone has written their pepeha and these are attached to their desks as a reminder of who they are, these now need to be memorised in preparation for our Marae stay next term.
