What's Happening in Room 10 in Term 1

Welcome to Room 10 and your new school. 
Here's some useful information about important events over the Term ahead:

 We have PE on Monday and Tuesdays and school Sport on Thursdays - make sure you have your PE gear at school on those days!

 Tech Arts runs on a two weeks on, one week in class system. We have Tech Arts on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

 Week 1
Monday 3 February: School starts back! Be in Room 10 by 8:50am. 
Tuesday: Tech Arts begins - A Group Food Technology (Cooking,) B Group Materials 
Thursday: No school - Waitangi Day

Week 2
Maths tests this week so we can sort out the syndicate Maths groups.
Reading and spelling tests too.
No Tech Arts this week
Wednesday: School swimming sports 
Thursday: School Sport begins.

Week 3
Monday: Syndicate Maths starts
Tuesday: Meet the Teacher evening

Week 4
Friday: Extension English and ICT begin.

Week 5
PAT Testing begins
No Tech Arts this week
Monday: Waikato swimming
Tuesday: Waikato Cricket
Class Councillor and Deputy chosen
Friday: House Captains announced in Assembly.

Week 6 
Friday: Extension Te Reo Maori begins
Class Councillor and Team Leader badges presented in Assembly.

Week 7
Thursday: Class photos

Week 8
Monday: Extension Maths begins
No Tech Arts this week
Tuesday: Waikato Touch
Tuesday / Wednesday pm - Reporting to Parents and goal setting - you must attend with your parents! 

Week 9
Friday: Waikato Visual Arts

No Tech Arts this week 
Wednesday - EOTC to Waiouru Army Museum and AC Baths on the way home.
Thursday: School ends for Term 1.

Planet X

Astronomers insist there is a Planet X four times the size of Earth lurking at the edge of our Solar System...

Room 10 have been creating their versions of what this Planet X might be like:

Lately in class we have been doing Planet X, we  had to make An imaginary  planet and create it using  paper mache,
We had to give  facts about our planet, describe how we got to our planet x , design and make up 3 creatures that might live on our planet and best of all we got to name that planet ourselves.

 Some of our planets were named:

 The Unaccompanied Planet, Planet Bubble-Gum,  Planet NBA and Planet Beauty.

We did lots of arts and crafts while doing this. My favourite part of doing planet x was creating our creatures I came up with 3 called, Giggly, Moo and Dave off Despicable Me.

Room 10 enjoy doing Planet X and it was really easy and a fun  way to end the year.

Another Win for Room 10 + lots of trophies

Room 10 have won everything except Ultimate Frisbee and Tug of War ... so today we got a photo of the class and the trophies ... end of year means time for some fun  pics too - 

but what are James and Cejay up to ?
