Christmas Card Exchange

Term 4, saw Room 10 creating a calendar to send to classes overseas and taking part in a Christmas Card exchange. In pairs cards were created that showed a little of what Christmas in NZ is like and these were sent to - The USA x 4, Poland, Switzerland, Norway, Turkey, Italy, Sri Lanka, England  and India.
We finished school for the year on December 17th so unfortunately we hadn't received  cards back from all countries by that date. However they'll be there waiting in 2016. We did get some replies and this video from Poland explaining Christmas traditions in that country...

Most awards at End of Year Prize giving go to Year 8's, however many Room 10's picked up awards for Excellence in a variety of areas:

Four awards are given out in each class - In Room 10 these went to Riley and Ashlyn who are inseparable - they always work hard in every subject area. Jakira for constant effort especially in Maths and Hoana - Rose for always giving 100% in all class ans school activities ( she also got another for Meritorious Service to the school as a Class Councillor too) :

Taliyah received awards for Excllence in Year 7 Maths and ICT

Jackson for Excellence in Year 7 Maths

Maddisyn - Excellence in Year 7 Maths and English

Aliana is pretty amazing - this year she was a member of both the Kapa Haka and Polynesian Groups - that's a lot of commitment! She received awards for Kapa Haka and Te Reo, for Year 7 Music and the top Year 7 Food Technology Award.

Chanel was also a dedicated Kapa Haka and Te Reo Class member and received awards for both

Anton received an Excellence in Materials Award,

Faith received the Year 7 Junior Girls Cross Country Trophy, ( sorry Faith I didn't to get a photo  of you with it!)

Thomas was awarded Excellence in Year 7 Maths, The Deputy Principals Trophy for Excellence in Maths, Runner Up in the Anzac Competition and Excellence in Year 7 Materials.  A pretty clever little guy is Thomas... and he has a great sense of humour too - evident when he frequently photo bombed our pictures!

Art work

Hilary's husband Peter represented New Zealand at Gymnastics when he was a Year 7 - 8. Aliana goes to Gym Club so he showed her ( and the class) that he still has the skills ...
