another wet lunch ...and the Rugby World Cup comes to Tokoroa Intermediate

Today (Friday 24 February)  The World Cup Rugby Road  Show Tour came to Tokoroa Intermediate School. There were some members of the Waikato Rugby Union. Also with them was Regina Sheck who was once a Black Fern – the Black Ferns are the reigning Women’s World Cup Rugby champions
Rueben Hurliman got to carry the World Cup into Assembly – he had a massive grin on his face as he walked down the aisle.
We were told about all the competitions we could enter and their prizes. Three of our students got to hold the World Cup.
We were disappointed no All Blacks came too , they were at training with the Chiefs for tomorrow’s game. To wrap up the morning we sang our guests ‘Tokoroa’. We were allowed to have photo's with the cup, as it was taking a long time we had a syndicate photo.

and the Syndicate boys

We've had a lot of rain this week and that has meant short lunch times and shut in class. This can get a little boring - but not if Rico is around ...
